Program "Far Eastern hectare"

The "Far Eastern hectare" program brings together Russian citizens who want to move to live and work in the Far Eastern Federal District. From February 1, 2017, everyone can get land in this region for free, and then take it into ownership.

In fact, moving to live in the Far East and developing the site is not necessary. There is another way to get a plot of 1 ha and profit from it, but you will find out below.

What kind of program?

Recently, more and more people are leaving the Far East closer to the capital. As a result, the region is rapidly losing its population. By 2015, this phenomenon has become a serious problem for the state. The Far Eastern Hectar Act has become one of the options for resolving it.

The main goal of the – program is the development of the already developed territories of the Far East. It offers local residents additional opportunities and « bonuses » for a comfortable life, and also attracts new people from other regions. Today, participants are offered several million free hectares, where you can choose the most suitable and convenient place for yourself. For 1 person stands out for more than 1 hectare of land.

Among the territories proposed to new residents there are options for different purposes. For example, plots for the construction and operation of industrial facilities, the construction of individual residential buildings, the development of the agricultural business, etc.

Program participants receive not only free land convenient for them in all respects, but also state support in various directions. For example, assistance in building your own housing and developing small businesses.

Who promotes "Far Eastern hectare"?

The new program is being developed with the support of President Vladimir Putin. On June 1, 2016 it became available to residents of the Far East. And February 1, 2017 — for all Russians.

To date, the conditions of the program continue to improve. So, on March 28, 2019, free land in the Far East became available for foreigners ( citizens of those countries that are participants in the state program for the resettlement of compatriots ).

How to get "Far Eastern hectare"?

There are several ways to get DG. The first – visit local government [Far East region] and declare your desire. The second – on the website of the State Service ( Gosuslugi.ru ). Third – on the website of the Far East, RF.  There is also a fourth way, it can be suitable for most citizens of the Russian Federation – to join a cooperative that will file a collective application and will conduct business activities on the site, and receive profit from the site. Part of the profit, from the plot of 1 hectare, you will receive. For the last method, it will not be necessary to develop the site and pay a tax for it. The cooperative will itself submit an application, master the site and will be engaged in economic activity, giving you part of the profit. If you are interested in this option, then read to the end.

Who chooses the site?

A person can independently form the boundaries of his future site online. It is also allowed to take land of a smaller area (less than 1 hectare). If you joined a cooperative, then he chooses a site that is suitable and more profitable for a contract activity.

How long has the application been considered?

A statement by a potential program participant takes an average of 33 days. These are working days! If the application is approved, the applicant will receive a contract for signing in his personal account directly on the website.

What can I do on the site?

On the site it is allowed:

• Arrange a cottage
• Engage in agriculture or forestry ( growing, livestock, fishing, hunting )

[Blog author: Would also surely include trades and services such as dentistry, yoga or dance teacher, plumber, mechanic, website developer, musician, artist, midwife, maths teacher, photographer ... ]

The state practically does not limit the participants in the program in the use of the obtained land.

State support for cooperatives

In the collective development of "Far Eastern hectares", the state invests in the creation of engineering, transport and social infrastructure, and also compensates for part of the costs of creating tourist facilities, eco-farm, greenhouse farms, aquaculture enterprises, etc. Program participants can receive grants, subsidies and subsidies, as well as soft loans. EcoPark commercial facilities are created by shareholder lands at the expense of strategic investors.

[More on the website explaining the "investor" possibilities. I would say that this would not be an applicable program for most countries since arable land is highly desirable all over the world for individual occupants to use, not as an investor opportunity.]
