Russia is giving free farm-land away to any citizen willing to work it

May 22nd, 2016

The Russian government has made an interesting decision to
give away free land to anyone willing to farm it.

In Russia’s Far-East Federal District, that ranges all the way to the Pacific Ocean, areas of land, 2.5 acres in size, will be given to any Russian citizen that wants to work it.

“It will allow Russians, especially the youth, to discover in the Far East a real chance for self-realization,” said Aleksandr Galushka, the minister for Far East development.

The plan states that if the citizen working the land can show that they are building it up, specifically agriculturally, it’s all theirs after five years.

  1. So... first we need to seek asylum in Russia and after we've been granted that we might be able to apply for land? :)

    1. More like... You apply for residency in Russia through the usual means... I think for Russia this might mean also giving up citizenship of the country/countries you are already a citizen of. Then on February 1, 2017, you will be eligible to apply for 1 hectare in the Far East district, just like all other Russians - Yes. I don't think Anastasia wants "beggars" who are on their knees to help co-create her "dream". So why don't you get up off your knees oh pretentious assylum-seeker, and simply make it happen.

    2. In the same way that American citizen and assylum-seeker Edward Snowden would not be eligible for land, neither would any other assylum-seeker, I am sure. What do you think Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin would agree to? Is he giving away his Motherland to the first few thousand assylum-seekers who knocks on his doo? Does he want your half-measures... or does he want your full commitment, do you think? What say you?
